Gaston Bushiri, CPA

As the founder of Bushiri & Associates, Gaston has nine years of experience in industry accounting and finance. He is skilled at partnering with senior executives to implement strategic and operational business planning with both large and small businesses in both financial modeling and implementing full accounting cycle.

His accomplishments include: Budget and Financial Analysis Manager with one the largest physician groups and integrated healthcare system in Atlanta, working as a member of month end and year end close team of a $900 million dollar company that reduced significant audit adjustments to zero within 18 months, and utilizing multiple data warehouses reporting functionality to develop and prepare financial and operational reports as needed by CEO, COO, CFO, Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers.

Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gaston received his Bachelor of Science Degree – Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is currently pursuing a dual Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration from Georgia State University (2012 expected graduation). Gaston and his wife, Hazel, live in Marietta, GA. They are blessed with twin girls, Safi and Lorna-Rheesah. Gaston holds certification as a Certified Public Accountant from Georgia (#CPA029815). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), National Association of Healthcare Services Executives (NAHSE), and Association of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

Athena Payne, CPA

Athena has twenty plus years experience exceeding employers and clients expectations in the areas of internal auditing, financial reporting, Sarbanes Oxley 404 consulting, treasury management, project management, and budget and forecasting. She is skilled at partnering with senior executives to implement strategic and operational business planning with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in the development of accounting policies and procedures, internal audit programs, and Sarbanes Oxley internal controls.

Her accomplishments include: Senior audit consultant of a $50 billion plus project including risk assessment, safety and OSHA controls, cost verification/contract compliance, and document controls; and treasury management and analysis of $30 billion dollars investment portfolio.

Athena received her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree – from the University of Georgia. Athena and her husband, Gregory, live in Kennesaw, GA. They are blessed with two boys. Athena holds certification as a Certified Public Accountant from Georgia (#CPA019249).
